Most of my inspiration comes from the curves you can see in nature around: a leaf, a cloud, a seaweed, waves etc. I can also be inspired by the body movements, dances, and facial curves. And of course wood: its veins, its color and natural shape. I sometimes try to understand what happened in the tree’s life: a storm, a heatwave. It is a great source of inspiration. Some wood varieties are amazing with very graphic veins like the plane tree.

There's a reason why plants are so popular in the world of design: they're known for their beneficial effects on reducing air and noise pollution, as well as for their positive effect on well-being, as they've been the subject of numerous scientific studies. These have shown that plants aid concentration, reduce stress and anxiety, and purify the air. They are therefore considered to be of great benefit to both our mental and physical health. So many good reasons to find a place for them in your home!

In Melbourne, my professional career took a radical turn, allowing me to finally focus on my passion: design and nature. After several months of learning on the job, covering everything from horticulture to space planning within a landscape architecture studio, I crossed the ocean again to settle in Lisbon (my heart's city) and establish my own business: Janvier Plants & Design.

Interior designers must stay abreast of trends, new technologies, and continuously educate themselves to stay at the forefront of their profession. With the rise of AI, a potential for radical transformation opens up, changing the way they conceive and execute their projects.

But the real question is: do these tools have the ability to replace this profession, which is fundamentally a passion-driven career? At Studio Bisson, we were eager to dive into this exciting topic.

Architecture and design, for me, are not just disciplines but an endless playground, a constant source of discovery. I appreciate the ability to be continually surprised by new architecture, materials, and designs. It's an opportunity to define who we are and convey our essence through our work, with each artist/designer contributing their unique personality, sensitivity, and history, creating the beauty and multidisciplinarity of this field.
